日建連表彰BCS賞

「BCS賞」は、「優秀な建築物を作り出すためには、デザインだけでなく施工技術も重要であり、建築主、設計者、施工者の三者による理解と協力が必要である」という建築業協会初代理事長竹中藤右衛門の発意により昭和35年(1960年)に創設され、以後、わが国の良好な建築資産の創出を図り、文化の進展と地球環境保全を寄与することを目的に毎年、国内の優秀な建築作品の表彰を行っております。
なお、第52回(2011年)からは建築業協会の合併に伴い、新団体の日本建設業連合会が表彰活動を引き継いでいます。

Forum for the Future set up Sustainable Shipping Initiative

Forum for the Future has teamed up with WWF International and two major shipping companies to establish a Sustainable Shipping Initiative (SSI).

As well as BP Shipping and Maersk Line, other founding members include Lloyd’s Register and Dutch state-owned bank ABN Amro.

The initiative aims to develop a sustainable action plan responding to the challenges faced by the industry over the next 30 years. Climate change, carbon taxes, changing cargoes and new weather patterns are cited as examples of the issues it will cover.
